Siskin Hospital focuses exclusively on physical rehabilitation for individuals who have suffered from disabling injuries such as amputation, major multiple trauma, stroke, and spinal cord and brain trauma. The patient floor renovations include new patient care rooms, restrooms, staff spaces and common areas which the design team selected finishes, color schemes and materials that create an atmosphere promoting healing and peace for the patients, as well as a positive work environment for staff members. Environment has been proven to play a crucial role in the healing process, so providing a comfortable and accessible environment was a key factor of the overall design.
